Ryli entered the Kokiri Forest, not knowing what to expect. The mission board said that the Skull Kids had been coming from the woods and attacking the Kokiri. As she came to the Kokiri settlement, she immediately saw the problem. Skull kids were everywhere; there were twice as many as the Kokiri. They were using their flutes as weapons. From a distance, the flutes were used as blowguns, shooting deku seeds at the poor Kokiri. If a brave Kokiri ventured close to a Skull Kid, then the flute was used as a club. Ryli saw two Skull Kids beating a Kokiri. She ran over to the Skull Kids and drew her sword. "They are just children..." Ryli thought. "I can't kill them...." She used the flat of her blade to knock the closer of the two in the back of the head, knocking him out cold. Seeing his friend down, the other fled back into the Lost Woods. "Now for the rest of you!" Ryli yelled. It was time for the battle to begin.

Jacob rushed in the forest and was immediately attacked by Skull Kids. He punched one square in the face, sending him flying. The others immediately got off of Jacob, fearing he might land a punch on them and send them flying. Jacob then saw four Deku Seeds coming at him and dodged at the last minute and went towards the nearest one who shot at him. Jacob uppercutted the Skull Kid and tackled him. The Skull kid started to whack Jacob with his flute, but Jacob soon easily picked the Skull Kid and threw him at a Kokiri house. The Skull Kid smashed into the settlement and dropped down unconsious.

Ryli felt a deku seed hit her in the back of the head. She spun around and saw three Skull Kids pointing and laughing. She rolled her eyes. "Do they really know who they're dealing with?" she thought to herself. She ran over to them, sword drawn. The two that did not shoot her backed away, leaving their friend to feel Ryli's wrath. She hit him with the flat of her sword, then pinned him to the ground, holding the point of her sword at his throat. She got two inches from his face. "Don't. You. EVER. Come. Here. AGAIN! Am I understood?"
The terrified look on the Skull Kid's face gave Ryli her answer. She stood and grabbed him by the arm and threw him in the direction of the Lost Woods. He ran as fast as he could to escape. Ryli turned quickly on the other two, wanting them to learn their lesson before they tried to run away. She used the flat of her blade to hit the one on the left in the chest, knocking the wind out of him. She then kept her momentum going and hit the one on the right with the pommel, causing him to fall roughly to the ground. They both crawled back to the woods.

Kairu walked into the Kokiri village and saw one Hylian and one Gerudo fighting the Skull Kids who seemed to have been the nuisance behind the raid. He drew his sword and ran over towards the store that he bought his sword from. He wanted to ensure that the merchandise was safe. He walked in and saw a Skull Kid clubbing the storekeeper. "No worries! I'll save you!" He exclaimed and the Skull Kid turned around in shock and Kairu slashed at the antagonizer.

Ryli looked and saw that a Hylian was saving the shopkeeper. What the Hylian didn't know was there was a Skull Kid taking aim at him from about twenty feet away. She sprinted over and knocked the Skull Kid down, again using only the flat part of her sword. She made up her mind that she wouldn't kill any of the Skull Kids. Ryli ran over to where the Hylian was. "We need to watch each other's backs. If we work together, we'll get this done a lot more efficiently." She was slightly out of breath from all the running she'd been doing; she still hadn't gotten any rest since her Sheikah training earlier.

Kairu turned around and tried to quickly grasp what happened, then focused on her words. "I couldn't agree more. Cooperation will be key to this. By the way, I'm Kairu." And he noticed two skull kids coming from opposite directions. "I take one, you take one?"

Ryli smiled and nodded. She began to charge at the left. "I'm Ryli!" she yelled back to him. She gripped her sword with both hands, and swung as hard as she could, sending the Skull Kid tumbling down, unconsious. A part of her felt bad for causing them pain.... She couldn't quit thinking that they were only children.... She knew all the ones she hurt would make a full recovery, and that, along with the fact she was saving the Kokiri children, were the only things making her feel better about it. Ryli turned to watch how Kairu handled his Skull Kid.

Elliot dashed into the forest, hearing all the commotion going on. "What in Hyrule..." The entire place was filled with the little Skull Kids. He had no idea where to start. Suddenly, something small zipped past his face, nearly nicking him in the cheek. He spun to his right where it had come from and saw the perpetrator--one of the Skull Kid was holding a blowdart. Well, he thought, smoothing down his ruffled hair. That answers my question. Sprinting towards the snickering creature, he quickly drew his newly acquired kokiri sword from its sheathe and, using the hilt of the blade, brought it down against its head. It crumpled to the ground, landing with a satisfactory thud. But with the one he sent unconscious, three more seemed to take its place. He looked around him and saw that the others recruiters who were trying to fend off the Skullies weren't doing much in reducing the numbers, either. Maybe if we can find where they're entering the Forest and try to seal it off somehow...

Jacob was dodging a flute when he saw the Gerudo who apparently came before him and a Hylian work back to back. Seeing the Hylian made Jacob wonder about what race he was if he wasn't Hylian. Jacob pushed the question off to the side and continued fighting with the Skull Kid. Jacob then saw Elliot come in from the entrance. Finally, Jacob thought to himself with a grin on his face.

Ryli saw another Hylian enter the forest and take down a Skull Kid... Only to be replaced by more. "The ones I took out must have went back for reinforcements!" She yelled to the Hylian. "We need to set up a barricade so no more can come out, but then how will we be able to send them back in?" She yelled at the top of her lungs, hoping the Hylian would hear her. She didn't want to abandon Kairu. Ryli heard footsteps behind her, and turned just in time to find a Skull Kid trying to sneak up on her, flute ready to be used as a club. This time, she swung her sword and let the sharp end slice a part of his leg. He'd recover from the wound, but he'd be done for this battle. He fell, screeching in pain.

A barricade? Elliot thought, while dodge-rolling another attack from a blowdart. A good idea. "I was just thinking the same thing!" he called out to the girl. "If we seal off where they're coming from, we could easily just dispose of the ones that are trapped here inside." He caught a dashing blur from the left with one hand and sent it flying into a wooden post. "But what could we use that would be sturdy enough?" He made a quick scan of the area and caught site of Jacob. Oh godesses, what have I gotten him into? Elliot thought. Sending a kid into battle? "Jacob, be careful!" He hurriedly tried to fight his way through the mass of Skull Kids towards him.

Before Ryli heard the Hylian mention "Jacob," she hadn't noticed the young boy trying to fight off the Skull Kids. "What is that kid getting himself into?!" she thought. The Hylian seemed to have him covered, so she busied herself looking for ways to make a baricade. Outside one of the Kokiri houses, she saw some stones, and on the path to the Lost Woods, there were thick vines, which the Skull Kids were using to climb up and down the small cliff to and from the Lost woods. "Hylian! I have an idea! You and Kairu, please cover me!" She ducked her head, hunched over and ran, making herself and even smaller target for projectiles. She tore off her remaining pant leg at the knee, and used it to make a sling to hold the stones. Tying it off, she ran over to the cliff. She threw her makeshift bag on top, then climbed the vines. No Skull Kids were coming out at the moment, and she used her sword to cut thick vines. She went to the opening of the Lost Woods with her vines and stones, and first made a tripline by stacking some stones, then placing a vine, then more stones to hold it in place. "That will stop the first wave, but what about the rest? They'll catch on soon enough..." she said out loud to herself.

"Smart girl," Elliot muttered, nodding his head in approval at the Gerudo while giving another Skull Kid a bash on its head. He grabbed the arm of another who was about to shoot at him and twisted it, making it cry out in pain and drop its weapon. "Why thank you for this marvelous flute," he kindly said, then graciously whacked it with the hilt of his sword. He turned his attention back to the female. "It's going to take more than a trip wire, though..." After fighting off a wave of the Kids that were getting dangerously closer to him and Jacob, he once again attempted to scan his surroundings for something to use as a barricade. Whenever he was on one his travels and desperately needed some kind of resource, his environment always came through for him. He hoped his luck wouldn't fail him here. Especially since so many Kokiri's were counting on them. Wait a minute... he thought suddenly, an idea dawning on him. What if I... No, No I can't do that. This is the Kokiri's home for goodness sake. He hoped for the best and continued to watch out for more Skull Kid's.

Ryli knew a regular tripline wouldn't hold long. She focused her thoughts on the desert sun, and once again felt the now familiar warmth flooding her hands. She let the flames on her hands grow, then grabbed the vine, setting it on fire. "That will hold them a little longer, at least until the fire goes out." She jumped down and ran to where the Hylian and Jacob were fighting, wanting to assist them before the next wave managed to break through her temporary barricade. "Hylian!" she yelled in between blunt blows to a Skull Kid. "Do you have a better idea for a sturdier barricade?"

He hesitated. Should he tell her? Surely she would think he was crazy. Not to mention disrespectful to the Kokiri's. Elliot shook the thought away from his head. He would try to think of a better solution first. No need to be hasty. Then if he couldn't...
"Uh...No, not yet!" he shouted back. "Just keep fending them off! Maybe they'll give up soon!" Oh godesses, please give up soon.
